This one is a story of my heart. Alexi had used so much paint on this paper that it cracked when drying. To make it usable, I stitched up all the breaks and it really felt cathartic, like I was repairing a part of myself. Yesterday my car got broken into while I was hiking and some things got stolen. I had been meaning to draw this shot for a couple of weeks, but as I was feeling stress waiting for the car window repairman to show up, this ended up being the perfect subject to draw on top of my patched-up heart. There really are no “good” or “bad” things that ever happen in this world; there is just constant motion moving forever forward. I’m a lot better at letting go than I used to be.
3’x4’, mixed media on paper.
