The invite for the 2019 Scholarship Gala is one of my favorite branding projects completed for Chestnut Hill College’s Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA). The objective of the redesign was to create a cohesive identity for OIA’s largest fundraising event that simultaneously honored the College’s 95th Anniversary, the Gala’s 10th year of celebrating, and the 50th wedding anniversary of the honorees.

I ended up going with a golden confetti theme, utilizing the digital gold printing capability of our vendor. This allowed for a shimmery gold effect that made the collateral feel elegant and special. Once I started working on the Save the Date, I brought in the plum tones that were overlaid onto photographs, creating a simultaneously regal and nostalgic feeling, and taking nods from the emergent burgundy tones that had been coming out in other campaigns this past year.

Working with our print vendor, we personalized the invitations using variable data printing. Each invitation arrived in the mail with the addresses’ first name field filled in on each, for example “Dear Samantha, Sister Carol Jean Vale cordially invites you…” prompting several phone calls to OIA just to say how welcoming and friendly the invitation was.

All in all, the pieces for this project included a Save the Date postcard, a Invitation with a reply card and return envelope, a back cover ad for the magazine, and a landing page for the website.
