This was one of two websites that I worked on for networks managed by the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network in 2019. The Having Our Say Network is a coalition that is focused on healthcare advocacy for people of color in California. In this day in age, I was grateful to work on a project that carried the messaging that this one has on it’s homepage hero.
This website was built in Divi on WordPress. We started with a series of wireframes that corresponded to some of the most organized content that I have every received from a client. I was given clear direction on the hierarchy of information, including H1, H2, hero content and sidebars.
Some light brand work was needed, so I vectorized their logo to allow for a crisper representation and expanded the colors of the logo into a full palette that we used throughout the site. They wanted a fun, modern icon set, so I sourced icons from the Noun Project and evened out the weight of them in Illustrator so that they would feel consistent.
Overall, I love Divi because it makes WordPress sites really easy to develop, really easy to design and then really easy for the client to maintain. A light training was included at launch, so that the CPEHN staff is able to administer the site for themselves moving forward.
